Yet Another Config

How We Review

Every library and tool covered on yetanotherconfig.com is tested on real hardware before its download information and guides are published. We install the same file a visitor would download, from the same page, and we work through it the way a new user would.

A review is only published when the file installs cleanly, loads without errors, and does its core job on our test devices. If a build fails a check, the listing waits until a working build is available, and the version and file size shown on the download page are taken from the file we actually tested.

Reviews on this site are carried out by Sebastian Roth, Android Tools Reviewer.

Devices we test on

  • Samsung Galaxy A55 (Android 15)
  • Google Pixel 8 (Android 16)
  • Redmi Note 13 Pro (Android 14)
  • Infinix Note 40 Pro (Android 14)
  • Samsung Galaxy A13 (Android 12)

Checks in every review

  • Install check: the file installs from a clean state with no errors and loads to its main interface.
  • Permissions check: every permission the app requests is reviewed against what the app actually does.
  • Performance check: core features are tested on ordinary home Wi-Fi and on mobile data.
  • Safety scan: the tested file is scanned, and its version, size and package name are matched to the published details.
  • Update re-check: when a new version is released, the install and core features are re-tested and the guides are updated.

Testing across a range from Android 12 to Android 16, and from budget hardware to current mid-range phones, shows how a tool behaves for the majority of users rather than only on flagship devices.

If we cannot verify a claim about a library or app ourselves, we do not publish it as fact. File sizes, versions and compatibility figures on this site come from the tested build, not from other websites.
